How To Build a Website Search Engines Love
Figuring out how search engines rank your website can be a tricky proposition. This is a controversial and opinionated topic. I’ve come to the conclusion that no one can tell you with absolute certainty that if you do this “one”thing or that “one” thing that you’ll get to the top of the search engine rankings.
There are many things that you must do if you want to have a chance of being noticed online.
The top search engines have their own criteria for determining how they rate and rank your website. Now they do reveal to us some of what they look for when deciding how “valuable” your website is; and this “criteria” is readily available if you search for it online.
Did you know that having a Privacy page, Terms of Service or About page has an effect on your search engine ranking in the eyes of certain search engines?
You can do all the research you want. Try the latest SEO Optimization tools and programs such as SEOmoz, SEO Quake, or Spyglass. Buy SEO software or sign up with an SEO service company which will charge you a monthly fee to get you ranked. You can buy an SEO guide and work your way through it and see if it helps.
And, you can always forgo SEO optimization altogether and go with a PPC (pay per click) campaign, where you pay Google, and other search engines, to place you on the top of the search engine results page (SERP) based on the keywords people are searching. Now how expensive do you think that can get?
