Importance of  WordPress SEO

Whether you use WordPress, or some other web design software to build your website you absolutely must optimize your website if you want to be competitive and get found online. When you set your website up properly you help guarantee your online success.

Don’t overlook the importance of proper website SEO. With millions of websites on the internet you want your site to stand out right? Many variables determine how websites are ranked and discovered in the search engines, and if you’re a WordPress beginner you need to learn as much as you can about optimizing your first website correctly.

Understanding this will give you an advantage because you’ll know what to include, or exclude, in your site to help give you an edge.

More importantly however, is that you understand that you should have a specific keyword SEO optimization goal in mind.

What does this mean and why is it important?

Optimizing your website with a specific keyword in mind means targeting and narrowing in on a specific market, group or demographic; so to speak. It means getting focused in and deciding what type of website you want to build so you can “optimize”and design it in accordance with your goals.

When you are clear on your end game, you are better able to design your plan of attack. I want you to think about this because below I’m going to give you some SEO tips you can follow today which will help you get started.

In my WordPress Video training I’ll walk you through all the steps in setting up, installing and configuring WordPress; but I also take you to another level as well as I show you how to totally optimize your website so the search engines adore you.

How Search Engines Rank WordPress Websites

This is a controversial and opinionated topic and I’ve come to the conclusion that no one can tell you with absolute certainty that if you do this “one”thing or that “one” thing that you’ll get to the top of the search engine rankings. There are many things that you must do if you want to have a chance of being noticed online.

The top search engines such as Google, Bing and Yahoo have their own criteria for determining how they rate and rank your website. Now they do reveal to us some of what they look for when deciding how “valuable” your website is; and this “criteria” is readily available if you search for it online.

Did you know that having a Privacy page, Terms of Service or About page has an effect on your search engine ranking in the eyes of certain search engines?

The bottom line:
You can do all the research you want. Try the latest SEO Optimization tools and programs such as SEOmoz, SEO Quake, or Spyglass. Buy SEO software or sign up with an SEO service company which will charge you a monthly fee to get you ranked. You can buy an SEO guide and work your way through it and see if it helps.

And, you can always forgo SEO WordPress optimization altogether and go with a PPC (pay per click) campaign, where you pay Google, and other search engines, to place you on the top of the search engine results page (SERP) based on the keywords people are searching. Now how expensive do you think that can get?

But there’s another way too.

You can follow along with me in my WordPress Tutorial Videos Course as I walk you through how I optimize my websites for the search engines.
